Grand Prix Stakes
Every winter in Brisbane, the city comes alive as the Queensland capital draws some of Australia’s elite horses to the state, competing in the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Regarded as the premier racing event in the Sunshine State, the carnival is host to many top class races, one of which is the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes every May.
Held at the Eagle Farm Racecourse, the Grand Prix Stakes draws in three-year-old horses to compete over 2,100 metres, for a share in $125,000. As an open handicap, the Grand Prix Stakes falls on one of the carnivals top days of racing; the Treasury Casino QLD Day.
