The Doomben Racecourse continues to host the action of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival with the running of the prestigious Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 Raceday.
With eight great races forming the proceedings, the highly anticipated $650,000 Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) will headline the event and sees a fantastic line up.
Another drawcard for spectators is the $150,000 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2200m), which is due to jump at 2.40pm this Saturday with a top quality line up of three-year-olds.
Sure to be the punters favourite for the 2010 Grand Prix Stakes is The Hombre and has drawn the middle barrier 10.
Definite Choice is the lucky colt to have drawn the favoured inside barrier for the 2010 Grand Prix Stakes – having suffered recently with a wide barrier draw, in contrast, Sanderson will start from the widest alley and the gelding will need to cross the field early.

The Lucky Owners gelding recently won the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate (2020m) at Doomben in a controversial finish, and saw of Tee Emar and Sanderson – also contenders for Saturday’s race, who finished second and third respectively.
Tee Emar crossed the line first in the Rough Habit Plate, however with Luke Nolen aboard – the duo had been found to knock The Hombre early in the event and so the Peter Moody colt was recorded as finishing second by a short neck.
Moody also has the Testa Rossa gelding Arvan starting the 2010 Grand Prix Stakes, after the three-year-old finished fifth in the Rough Habit.
Caiseal is once again named as the first emergency call, the Choisir filly is looking for a spot in the $400,000 Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) on the 5th of June – and needs to race to be in with a chance.
Also taking place on Saturday at Doomben is the Group 3 Premiers Cup (2200m), and five other great races.
