The action at the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival continued on Saturday, as the Doomben Racecourse was host to some fantastic racing in the form of the Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 Raceday.

Kutchinsky took out the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2200m) in style, coming from the back to win on the straight.

Headlined by the $650,000 Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m), Saturday saw some great performances on the track – one of which was from the Tony Noonan-trained Kutchinsky.

As the fifth race of the day, Kutchinsky took out the $150,000 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2200m) in style, coming from the back to win on the straight.

The Hombre finished a short neck behind in second, despite having gone into the race as the odds on favourite to claim the win.

Landlord, trained by Bart Cummings finished a length behind The Hombre in third.

While all three will now most likely go on to participate in the $500,000 Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m) – with Kutchinsky a sure fire punters favourite.

Also taking place on Saturday at the Doomben racecourse was the Group 3 Premiers Cup (2200m).
